THESE ARE SOME COMMON QUESTIONS WE GET

4 – What is the tourist ticket – BTG? Will I need it for a Cusco and/or Sacred Valley Tour?

The Cusco tourist ticket (or Boleto Turistico) is an official paper document issued by Peru’s Local Government. With it, visitors have access to major attractions in Cusco and the Sacred Valley (mainly archaeological sites-ruins) Different types of tickets are available, but most travelers purchase the Full ticket, which includes 16 sites and is valid for 10 days.

The Full tourist ticket grants access to archaeological ruins in ChincheroOllantaytambo, Pisac and Moray in the Sacred Valley. While in Cusco, the ticket grants the access to Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo and other little ruins nearby Cusco; also Tipon and Pikillaqta. The ticket does NOT include entry to the Maras Salt Mines, nor to Machu Picchu.

8 – Which transport do you use for your private tours?

We hire comfortable H-1 Minivan or Van (AC, PA system, wide trunk for luggage, easy step-in and out, polite and helpful drivers, etc.) according to the size of your party that is provided by registered operators meeting the legal (insurance) and technical requirements for the transport of passengers. Though to cater to all travel budgets we also do walking tours and tours by Sedans and public transport (for walking tours) whose cost will be lower.

Note: Semi-Private tours will be run in a Sedan, Minivan or Van, depending on the size of the group.

9 – Why a guide AND a driver?

Because parking (and even pick up and drop off) spots close to the sights are just too scarce and many sites of interest are located in pedestrian-only areas; even if we used a guide-driver parking and unparking would take a lot of expensive tour time.

With separate guide and driver, you are dropped and picked-up very close to the sights, the guide is with you at the sites to take you directly to the important spots, avoiding crowds, pickpockets and other hassles.
And your belongings are safe while you are sightseeing with your guide as the driver will not leave the car unattended.

10 – What is the maximum number of people you can have in the same group?

The main idea is the tour to be as much personalized as possible. Remember Your Tour is Private. However, as per request of many guests, we now offer SEMI-PRIVATE SHARED TOURS, with a maximum number of 6 people – Guarantee. For Private bigger groups, please send a message to cuscolocalfriend@gmail.com

11 – How far in advance should I book?

Generally we say “the sooner, the better”; especially important for travelers visiting during the height of the dry season, June to August. Travelers visiting outside of these busy months can often book a bit more last minute, although 48 hours is still recommended. We are often able to accommodate last minute travelers as well, so give us a call and we will do our best! for last minute bookings.

12 – How the payment is done?

To book and secure Tours or any other services, you will be required to pay a minimum and fixed deposit per person, so your booking can be confirmed (regardless of the number of passengers in your party). The amount of this deposit varies according to the tour of your choice and/or service required but is always published on the tour page.

Only if deposit is done, we can guarantee your dates, the balance will be paid in cash the day of the tour or transfer when meeting up with your Local Friend. Deposits can be paid using one of these methods:
